Mikespeed's playhouse.
Guess I'll post all the crap I'm building/working on here. Got my 72 Camaro in the shop finally, so I'll post the stuff from that. I got the LS1 240 I was building for sale, and some old pics of that build-I-lost-interest-in are here:

Heres the Camaro as it sits, need to clean it out and clean it up and start on chassis work on it, cage, fuel cell, steering setup, steering angle, and 3rd link.
Nick, Pramik and Johnny have been hanging out a lot lately and we decided to deck out the Kawasaki Mule I was gonna sell for no legitimate reason.
I honestly can't recall the last time I had everything I needed to just whip something up, so this has been really fun since I haven't had to wait on anything or depend on anyone and I can just build stuff, laugh, and go with it. Nick helped do the wiring and Johnny was awesome at just helping with all kinds of misc stuff.
When we started it was a total and complete basket case.
So we've spent about 8 hours or so (VERY relaxed and amusing 8 hours) and about $350 in metal/consumables/lights/wire/etc cleaning it up and some used AN fittings/lines/fuelcell I had laying around the shop and ended up with this pit-road-cruising beast. Still need to make a new front bumper complete the bed and paint it, but its coming along and beena really fun male-bonding time.
And a sweet video of it with the straightpipes. It soundsawesome terrible.

Anyways, will post more when there is something worth posting. Haha.

Re: Mikespeed's playhouse.
Nothing extraordinarily exciting, but have a cool toy to cruise around events with and carry tools/tires/tow stuff.
Got it for about $300 worth of initial stuff trading up, spent another $300 on fixing stuff, and now I'm up to a grand total of $850 after taking back stuff I didn't need and actually adding stuff up. Not too bad, rides nice, and tows my open trailer with a car on it around the shop no problem. Had all the fuel stuff laying around and didn't want to use it on anything, so this was convenient. All because someone stole the gas tank off of it. Hah.

Still need to make the flip up door for putting gas in it, and figure out what material I wanna use to trim the bed, and what I want to do for rear seats. Was really fun to play and work on something without waiting on any parts or crap out of my control for once, even if it is dumb and dinky, was total fun to work on it and fix it up some. And we're putting a stereo on it for maximum bro.

Re: Mikespeed's playhouse.
So here is a nifty little update
Wednesday Pramik and myself will be going on a road trip. I've been trying to get a LeMons car going for years, but have had terrible luck building teams.
We built the Brat a long time ago, and I've had nothing but bad luck buying engines for it.
Anwyays, friend approached me about prepping a car for him, and then we can use it and go nuts. Wednesday night this will arrive in the trailer, and after room is made will start chipping away at it.
It needs some wiring, telemetry, the rear section of the cage re-done, and just an overall cleaning up and the carbs probably aren't tuned well, which may or may not get fixed.
Its a running/driving 260z, and I just happen to have a Kirkey seat laying around, and a bunch of 300zx brakes that will probably wind up on this.
Hopefully I'll get the shop cleaned up after the holidays, and get this in there and do some side-by-side prep on the Camaro and this guy since they're about at the same point, just need to get the Camaro all caged up.

Re: Mikespeed's playhouse.
I didn't realize at all how late I was at the shop, haha.
Just laying things out, have a TON of room compared to the 240, its rad!!!
And this is just incredible. No cutting fenders, measuring 3-4 times plenty of room for control arms and no steering interference, this is gonna be awesome!
Should be able to get about this much angle no big deal
This is where I left tonight, pretty excited!!!
Tomorrow gonna try to watch SHSU go 13-0, and get the rear end mounted and start mocking that all up and if I can find some parts around the shop maybe start tryingt o formulate a gameplan for connect the dots.
Super stoked!! Was really worried about some aspects of this but it seems like it's going to be a cakewalk compared to what I thought! Still going tob e a lot of work, but having a 70 Camaro that I can do anything from cruise to Taco Bell, rev my engine all sick at a street light, drag race, drift, autocross, take to track days will be sooooooooooooooooooooooooo worth it in the end.

Re: Mikespeed's playhouse.
Way cooler than that lame done-a-zillion-times or copy-random-jp dude crap they're diong over at Hectors garage before racewars. Bo-ring.
I don't know what spring rate these leafs are, they're Global West, and they are going to rip harder than a ZZ Top concert in 1983.
Indestructible 12 bolt, check.
Shiny wheels that look baller, check.
Everything fit decent? check
Lack of care for overcomplicating this sideways burnout crap, double check.
Gotta find some cheap calipers now that will work on the back and front, and order 3 left and 3 rights. Going to be some good times ahead here.
Oh, and SHSU, 13-0. Sup. At least this school doing something right!
So excited to finally be done with stupid school, making money, and playing with my Camaro at night.

Re: Mikespeed's playhouse.
I don't think I've ever even touched a c6, that'd be cool! Depends on how annoying the front end is to get enough room to slide the cam out.
Which one you thinking of going with?

I want to pick up a Texas Speed cam kit. I'll decide on the cam later.
As far as I know the install just involves removing the radiator to make room.
