We need financing and practice!!

Ok guys we got some good pics on Sunday and we need to get this proposal set for getting finance for our club from SHSU. Also we have some good potential just lying around!
1. Auto crossing... Ryan and nick seem to be ahead in this
2. Drifting.... We need to get a car built for mike
3. Drag strips... Me, johnny, Stephen, Ryan can all work in this section

I know this is just a fun, afterschool thing but there is real good potential here.

Its a good idea, but I really dont think the school will give funding to a group that does not promote the progress of the school. AKA: a trophy the school can have. If we can sell them on the idea that its a sport, drag drift autocross. and when we win we promote the school

If you're going to try to do anything associated with the school, the club is going to have to reflect the school.

"Team NRG" doesn't really give any payback to "Sam Houston State University"

Sam Houston Auto Club or something would work, and probably help market growth better.

That's all up to the present/vp but we could always slap a "awesomeshop" decal on our cars

Also just to clarify, not tryign to bash NRG name, I brought this up a while back with someone and they got kinda grumpy about it, but if you wanna be a university sanctioned car club, you need a name that suggests that.

For the longest time I had no clue what "TeamNRG" was, soundsl like a cliche m4dtYt3 import street racing club, who's pinnacle of existance is "mah friend building turbo EF that gon run 14's NA LS VTEC!!!"

I know "team nrg" is not the best name in the world. But Sam Houston auto club sounds too.. Preppy! We need ideas guys!!

the school did not want us to become a student organization at first and could not understand why we wanted to... they however decided to let it happen. We have a TON of potential and dont take advantage of of it. Were already in and can get funding, we dont have to change our name or become more school related... they just need to know that the money is going toward a legit purpose. $$ for gas? No. $$ for hotel rooms for sema/nopi/hin roadtrip? Yes... we just have to ask

Nopi went out of business. I used to work there. Sema + school doesn't really work, HIN is dumb, lol.

those are just examples, point is they will give us money

just need to enter some competitions and Im sure they would pay for hotels and stuff. when is pass time coming this way, we can jump on there and spread the NRG and SHSU name on T.V.

Lol this is a great thread y'all, we def need to pursue this.

There are plenty of cars in our group to show our cars at the shows. which is really cool. i dont know how we are going to promote autox with the school because there arent any real rewards except for self satisfaction. However we do have some cars (not saying mine, or at least not yet) to drag and do bracket racing. Im sure we could get into an easier bracket. And drifting haha lets be real, mike is the only one that could really do well in it (as far as i know). I dont necessarily know if changing the name to something with Sam Houston in it will change anything, only because we are a school club as it is. Im sure once our car club gets a little bigger and we all start making it out to bigger events things will turn out for us.

There are a lot of car shows that we could be part of im sure with lots of pictures and maybe a few awards here and there they could do something.

Btw who is in charge of talking things out with the school. David ?

i also think the school gives you website hosting if i remember correctly, we would just have to get a domain which is dirt cheap, it would be easier to advertise on flyers that could lead to the forum, but also have everything else on the first page.
so instead of putting team-nrg.forumnation.com it could show team-nrg.com. Me and ryan could put this together nicely

I agree on replacing the domain name. All we need todo is purchase the domain and then I can replace this one, there is an option in the admin section that will allow me to do that.

the only thing available is www.team-nrg.org which is fine b/c we are an organization to an extent, not a .com lol

just wear sam houston apparel in the pictures, and make the pictures into advertisement flyers. just dont look stupid or high in the pics, lol. that can help (at least a bit..) get the name out there in a good way, and show off for the school that it's a legit program with people that want to host a program for their truthful passion of cars.
